The Muskies finished with the league's second best record, but wretched attendance figures led owner Larry Shields to sell a minority stake to a group of Florida businessmen and moved the team to Miami. In order to pay leftover debts in Minnesota, Shields sold Rookie of the Year Mel Daniels to the Indiana Pacers, a deal now reckoned as the most lopsided trade in
it wasn't enough to keep the white and blue in San Antonio
the team played eleven games in the air conditioned Omni Coliseum from June to August
and four teams joined the NHL for the 1979-80 season: the Edmonton Oilers
